FAQ

How often should I replace the filter for the Fish Pediatric Compressor Nebulizer?
The disposable air filter lasts for 6 months under normal use. However, it’s best to replace it sooner if it becomes discolored to maintain optimal performance and medication delivery.

How do I clean the compressor?
Wipe the exterior of the compressor with a clean, damp cloth every few days. Remember to turn off and unplug the nebulizer before cleaning.

Do I need to clean the disposable and reusable nebulizer?
Both types of nebulizers should be cleaned after each treatment to prevent the risk of infection. Please hand wash the disposable nebulizer according to the instructions below. The reusable nebulizer can be hand washed or cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher.

  1. Turn off and unplug the nebulizer compressor.
  2. Detach the nebulizer tubing from the compressor.
  3. Separate the mouthpiece or mask from the nebulizer cap. Then, unscrew the cap from the medication cup and remove the baffle.
  4. Wash all the nebulizer parts (except the tubing) with warm water and mild dish soap.
  5. Rinse all parts under hot tap water.
  6. Let the nebulizer parts air dry completely before reassembly.

Do I need to disinfect the disposable and reusable nebulizers?
Disinfecting your nebulizer (reusable and disposable) daily adds an extra layer of protection that helps further reduce the risk of infection.

  1. Disassemble the nebulizer.
  2. Soak all parts (except the tubing) in a solution of 3 parts hot water to 1 part white vinegar for 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can use a bacterial-germicidal disinfectant solution following the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. With clean hands, remove the nebulizer parts and rinse them thoroughly under hot water.
  4. Let all parts air dry completely before reassembly.
  5. Store the nebulizer in a clean, sealed bag.

How often should I replace my nebulizer?
Disposable Nebulizers: replace every two weeks for optimal hygiene.
Reusable Nebulizers: replacement is recommended every 6 to 12 months, or sooner with frequent use.
