AutoSet Functionality

The Resmed AutoSet S9 features a unique pressure adjustment technology - commonly referred to as the AutoSet Algorithm - which allows for more customized therapy by monitoring your personal flow inhibitors on a breath-by-breath basis. The Algorithm tracks your breathing behavior (i.e. your snoring and apneas) and then automatically adjusts pressure emissions based on air flow. The AutoSet Algorithm responds quickly so you won't have to wait long for adjustments. This feature is also handy when you're sick: the Algorithm can detect when you're having trouble with nose breathing and will provide the necessary pressure adjustments to compensate.

Easy-Breathe and EPR n

The ResMed Auto S9 CPAP machine is also equipped with a couple of add-on technologies which make your therapy significantly more comfortable. Easy-Breathe technology smooths the transition between pressure alterations from inhalation to exhalation; this decreases the likelihood that your treatment will be disrupted. The Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR) function provides relief by decreasing pressure at the beginning of every breath and then curtailing pressure throughout exhalation. The EPR can be adjusted according to your preference - pressure can be reduced by one, two or three centimeters of water pressure depending on your liking. What makes EPR so great? It detects unnatural breathing sequences and will automatically stop when you have an apnea which lasts longer than ten seconds.

Smart Start/Stop n

Remarkably easy to use and operate, the S9 includes SmartStart and SmartStop technology: the machine will begin operating as soon as you take a breath, and then cease operating when you remove your mask. This technology promotes safety and power conservation.

Advanced Humidifier

The H5i is a top-of-the-line humidifier which, when working in concert with the S9, has the ability to correctly monitor your temperature and humidity levels and make adjustments when necessary. The H5i is designed to work cooperatively with the heated tubing and the machine itself to provide optimal humidity management. The device is equipped with five sensors which gauge the S9's temperature and humidity settings; this allows you to maintain appropriate humidity without hassle or complication.
