FAQ

What is the oxygen flow rate of the Inogen G5?
At 20 breaths per minute, the oxygen flow rate for each flow setting is as follows:

Setting 1: 11 ml/breath ± 15%
Setting 2: 21 ml/breath ± 15%
Setting 3: 32 ml/breath ± 15%
Setting 4: 42 ml/breath ± 15%
Setting 5: 53 ml/breath ± 15%
Setting 6: 63 ml/breath ± 15%

What is the difference between the Inogen G4 and G5?
An upgraded version of the Inogen One G4, the G5 concentrator features improvements in battery life and oxygen delivery. While it weighs about 1 pound more than the G4, the G5 offers twice the battery life with its 8-cell (single) and 16-cell (double) battery options. The Inogen G5 concentrator also offers 6 flow settings, whereas the G4 only has 3 flow settings.

Can the Inogen G5 run without a battery?
While technically possible, Inogen advises against operating the Inogen One G5 without batteries. When using the concentrator with the G5 AC power supply or G5 DC power adapter, it is recommended to keep a properly inserted G5 battery. This ensures uninterrupted oxygen therapy and enables important alerts in the event of power outages. For extended periods without access to power, it’s best to have extra G5 batteries on hand. You should also consider getting optional G5 External Battery Charger to recharge the battery while disconnected from the concentrator.

Can I use the Inogen G5 24 hours a day?
Yes. The Inogen One G5 can be used 24 hours, 7 days a week, including during sleep. Its Intelligent Dose Delivery Technology increases the amount of oxygen in each pulse dose as your breathing rate slows.

Can the Inogen G5 be used while charging?
Yes. You can use the Inogen One G5 while charging. For uninterrupted therapy during power outages, you can leave the concentrator plugged in with fully charged batteries.

How do I connect the Inogen G5 to the Inogen Connect app?
Please follow the instructions in the Inogen Connect: Getting Started Guide. The provider code you’ll need to connect the machine to the app is 30-F80-11-222.

Can I use the Inogen G5 with a CPAP or BiPAP?
The Inogen G5 is not designed to be used with CPAPs, BiPAPs, nebulizers, or humidifiers. Using these devices with the G4 can interfere with the proper functioning of your Inogen concentrator.

Is the Inogen G5 approved for air travel?
Yes. The Inogen One G5 is FAA-approved for commercial air travel. Inogen recommends bringing enough batteries to last 150% of your flight duration, as well as ground time and unexpected delays. Make sure to wrap extra batteries individually and store them in your carry-on baggage.

Check with your airline to find out their specific requirements at least 48 hours before your flight. If they offer onboard electrical power, remove the battery from the concentrator first and plug it into the aircraft in-seat power port using the G5 DC power adapter.
