Hans Rudolph Quest CPAP Full Face Mask Complete Set

General Introduction

The Quest mask by Hans Rudolph is very easy to install and fit - this "single piece" mask can be pressed over your face in a split second and is easily fastened into place with the headgear straps. The straps are adjustable so patients can obtain a personalized fit without hassle. Moreover, this mask is available in five different sizes - petite, extra small, small, medium and large - so patients can select the most appropriate size for them.

Quick Release Headgear Clips

The headgear is composed of soft, pliable material and is remarkably easy to attach. Also, equipped with special "quick release" clips which allow for rapid detachment from the mask frame; importantly, the clips will preserve any unique adjustments you have made so your customized fit will not be disturbed.

Anti-Asphyxia Valve

In the event that airflow through the mask is stopped, the full face mask is fixed with an anti-asphyxia valve which opens the mask and allows patients to breathe air from the surrounding environment. The valve is programmed to operate and open the mask if the mask pressure falls below a certain critical threshold.

Five Sizes

The Quest is a slightly larger than typical mask and we recommend that patients between sizes opt for the smaller sized mask. That is to say, if you normally wear a medium mask, the small model of the Quest will be the best fit for your facial structure. For a more detailed and specific explanation, please check out our sizing guide, under the Specifications tab above.

I just bought a Quest X-S based on all the positive reviews elsewhere but unfortunately this mask is a waste of money even though it is made from quality materials. #1) There is supposed to be a "soft gel" against your face/nose. #2) My CPAP machine indicates that the mask is NOT sealing properly no matter what adjustments I make. In addition, the silicon flange against the face is less-than-flexible & dug into my cheek so much that it scraped the skin raw. #3) The side clips are extremely difficult for someone with arthritis to manage & #4) the clip to detach the hose is so extremely difficult to detach to the point that I was worrying I would break the plastic. One positive is that the velcro on the straps is nicely streamlined although somewhat difficult to detach. #5) The fitting process is NOT as simple as the company said. I found it difficult to get the top part of the head strap properly centred. It kept slipping towards the front & almost came off at one point over my forehead. #6) air kept blowing into my eyes no matter how I tried to adjust around the nose. Unfortunately, this is a "buyer beware" item - it has many excellent ratings but even though I fitted it properly (I mean, HOW exactly could you misread an exact middle of the extra-small part of the guide??!!) I cannot get it to seal properly. Respshop where I bought it suggested liners but for the price & the hype given this full face mask, I shouldn't have to invest even more $$$$ to try & get it to seal properly!

Unlike most, this mask did not hurt my nose as I was able to keep it somewhat loose. The issue that I have noticed as well as others is the MASSIVE size of this mask. There are SO many parts on the mask that aren't necessary ans just add more and more and more size. It's OK in comfort but like I mentioned it is so huge it made my face sweat all night. I'm one of those that work out and I am in good physical shape. So keep in mind I believe mask is for those with overly large faces. In those cases it would work just fine. For me I like the Amara View and my go to is the ResMed Quattro FX. Bot allow me to comfortably lay on my side without leaks.

the most uncomfortable mask I have ever worn. In order to keep it from leaking air at the bridge of my nose, I had to tighten it at both locations. The Plastic is very stiff even though the description claims it has gel, it does not. It left marks on my face for most of the day and leaked anywayevery time I moved an inch. HORRIBLE MASK!!!!!......Felt like a torture device.
