AirSense 10 Elite with Humidification System
Overview of the AirSense Elite
The AirSense 10 Elite with HumidAir is a technologically sophisticated, well-constructed machine which produces high quality results for sleep apnea patients. The Resmed AirSense 10 Elite is a fixed-pressure machine and it comes with all of the same top notch features as the other machines from the AirSense line, including expiratory pressure relief (EPR), AutoRamp and advanced data management.
Expiratory Pressure Relief
Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR) provides a more natural breathing experience for patients by reducing your pressure level as you exhale and then gradually elevating it back to normal. Patients can adjust the EPR function manually - patients can have 1cm, 2cm or 3cm of pressure relief delivered. Adjusting the EPR will allow you to have more personalized pressure relief and a greater degree of comfort. If patients experience a prolonged apnea event - one which exceeds 10 seconds - the EPR will automatically stop functioning until your breathing returns to normal.
Event Detection AutoRamp Technology
Patients who opt for the AirSense 10 Elite will benefit immensely from the Resmed Elite's AutoRamp technology. AutoRamp is intended to maximize comfort by allowing patients to take greater control over the regulation of their pressure from the earliest point. AutoRamp will deliver low pressure levels during the initial phase of your therapy - when you're trying to fall asleep - and will then raise them to normal afterwards. This produces a more natural breathing experience as you won't receive heavy pressure levels until after you've fallen asleep. The timing of the AutoRamp can be adjusted to suit your particular needs - you can select within a range of 0 to 45 minutes.
Advanced Data Management
One of the most critical features of the AirSense 10 Elite Resmed CPAP machine is its advanced data management capability. The AirSense Elite is fixed with AirView, a cloud-based data storage system which allows patients to access their saved therapy data conveniently without the use of a physical data card. The AirView can store up to 365 days of therapy data and will enable your physician or healthcare provider to examine your progress more efficiently. Furthermore, patients can also take advantage of myAir, an online program which facilitates progress tracking and provides educational tips and support via email and text messaging. Patients who wish to privatize their therapy information and prefer not to have their data so accessible can use the Airplane Mode, which precludes your data from being transferred to cloud storage.
The AirSense 10 Elite machine has more advanced event detection capability than most other devices. The AirSense Elite will detect indications of central sleep apnea (CSA) and Cheyne-Stokes respiration (CSR) and then store this information for purposes of review and analysis by your physician or healthcare provider. If either of these events occur during therapy, patients will be able to receive feedback and information from their physician more rapidly and with greater efficiency.
SmartStart and SmartStop
The AirSense 10 Elite is fixed with SmartStart and SmartStop functions. SmartStart and SmartStop are designed to preserve power and ensure that your machine does not operate independently without your knowledge. With SmartStart, your machine will begin to operate only after you've taken your first breath into your mask; SmartStop shuts off your machine just as soon as you remove the mask from your face. These automatic on and off functions reduce worry and guarantee that your power is being used efficiently.
Mask Fitting
The AirSense 10 Elite possesses a special mask fit recognition function which is able to determine whether your nasal, nasal pillow or full face mask is fitting correctly. The AirSense Elite has a display mechanism which will visually show the status of your mask fit. After you've put on your mask, you can simply glance at the display and see whether your mask is properly or improperly fit.
HumidAir System
HumidAir, the integrated humidifier for the AirSense 10 Elite, is an advanced humidification system which has the capacity to greatly enhance your therapy experience. This inbuilt humidifier is straightforward, easy to navigate and is sure to alleviate many of the negative side effects of CPAP therapy, such as nasal congestion, dryness and sore throat. The HumidAir has a special Auto mode which enables patients to enjoy self-adjusting humidification immediately after they install their tubing and press the start button. The water chamber has to be removed in order for it to be filled with water -- this guarantees that the motor won't suffer damage as a result of accidental spillage.
ClimateLineAir Heated Tubing
The AirSense 10 Elite device will work with standard, SlimLine and the recently developed ClimateLineAir heated tubing. These various tubing options allow patients to customize their experience and tailor it to meet their specific needs. Significantly, the ClimateLineAir heated tubing was created specifically for the AirSense series. It is not possible to use older ClimateLine heated tubing with the AirSense 10 Elite or other AirSense 10 machines. If patients choose to acquire the ClimateLineAir tubing they can be confident that they've added a valuable piece to their therapy system - the ClimateLineAir tubing will provide advanced protection against rainout and will promote superior humidification altogether.
