SleepWeaver Élan Cloth Nasal Mask -Circadiance
The SleepWeaver Élan soft cloth nasal mask is made entirely out of cloth. The nasal cushion inflates like a balloon around the nose with the flow from the CPAP machine. This silicone-free mask offers a hopeful alternative to CPAP therapy for people with sensitive skin or pressure point sensitivity. The SleepWeaver Élan is made of breathable, moisture-wicking material and seals with loose-fitting headgear. The open-frame design of the headgear and the compressible cloth cushion allows for side and stomach sleeping. A flexible hose with a double swivel connection lets users move about during sleep without losing the seal on the cloth mask.
Features
- All cloth, no plastic on the face
- Hypo-allergenic
- Open face design
Like wearing a pillow of air
The elastic material in the cushion of the SleepWeaver Élan expands around the nose with a cloud of air once the CPAP machine is turned on. The cushion conforms to the face, molding itself to provide a highly individualized fit. The material is like that used in winter ski clothing and wicks away moisture and heat from the exhaled breath. Angled air vent holes located at the bottom of the cushion quietly vent air away from the user and bed partner. The cushion rests quite a bit lower on the nose than the silicone nasal cushions in most masks. The lower placement keeps the balloon from getting in the way of the eyes when it inflates.
Pressure free
The headgear on the SleepWeaver Élan is intended to be worn loose, so there are no pinching or sore spots to contend with. Two straps extend from the nasal cushion and lie below and above the ear. The back of the headgear arches up to keep pressure off the spine and encircles the back of the head. The forehead and bridge of the nose are untouched. Wear glasses, watch TV, or play games before sleep. Facial hair, dentures, or a deviated septum are not barriers to a good fit and good night’s sleep with the SleepWeaver Élan. Many users with chronic migraines have found the pressure point-free fitting of the SleepWeaver Élan to be a game-changer in their CPAP use. Move all you want The mask connects to a featherweight 18-inch tube with a 90-degree elbow adapter that can swivel a full 360 degrees. The tubing and elbow allow the user to move into any desired sleep position without dragging on the cushion or interrupting the seal. The compressible nasal cushion allows side sleeping and stomach sleeping without a loss in CPAP performance. A quick connect on the elbow allows rapid connection and disconnection when getting in and out of bed. A tether strap is included in the starter pack that can be used to position the tubing over the head or even over the headboard.
Sizing and fitting
Size selection
Selecting the right size is critical to your comfort and satisfaction with any sleep apnea mask. The SleepWeaver Élan comes in small, medium, and large sizes. The medium (standard) size fits most people. If the width of your nose is less than 1.25 inches, Circadiance recommends starting with a small. A sizing guide is available here.

FAQ
Does the SleepWeaver Élan fit or adjust differently than a traditional silicone nasal mask?
Yes, it does. The cushion sits quite a bit lower on the nose. Adjusting for leaks also involves more wiggling side to side, whereas silicone masks often need to be lifted and reseated. The starter kit includes a DVD to help you get the most out of the SleepWeaver Élan.
Can I really sleep on my stomach or side? Won’t that compress the cloth and reduce the pressure delivery?
You can bury your face in a pillow without losing any pressure. The cushion will collapse down on the compressed side, but the pressure will be maintained within the rest of the elastic cushion. You will get your full sleep apnea therapy regardless of your position!
My nose gets dry from CPAP, and I use a humidifier. Will the cloth mask get wet?
Nope. Keep using your humidifier! The cloth cushion is made to wick away moisture and stay dry.

Not only are both of their masks easy on the face without any pressure points, they are great to travel as they are very compact and lite.
I do not think I would ever go back to the other brands.
The Velcro to secure the white hose to the mask head strap needs to be redesigned to stay attached. Perhaps a longer strap coming from the hose that can loop under the mask head strap and attach to itself on the top.
