AirSense 10 AutoSet with Humidification System
Introduction to the ResMed S10 AutoSet
The AirSense 10 AutoSet with HumidAir by ResMed is an innovative, technologically advanced machine possessing a number of new, cutting-edge features as well as many tried-and-true, patient friendly functions. The AirSense 10 has cloud-based wireless data management capability, an improved auto ramp function, advanced event detection and a host of other impressive perks. With this device, patients can expect to receive superior pressure relief, excellent humidification and top notch therapy results on a consistent basis.
Perhaps the most striking feature of the AirSense 10 AutoSet is the innovative data management capability. This device uses a special data management system called AirView which allows patients to use cloud-based storage so that their vital therapy information can be accessed easily at any time. The AirView system allows your physician or healthcare provider review and examine your progress without the limitations associated with typical machines. The best part about AirView is the online program known as myAir. This enables patients to receive email, text messages and other forms of communication so they can manage their therapy more effectively. The AirSense 10 offers a special Airplane Mode which privatizes your therapy and prevents outside parties from being able to access your information. Airplane Mode welcomes patients who would prefer to have private control over their therapy experience.
Expiratory Pressure Relief
Like its predecessor machines, the AirSense 10 AutoSet comes equipped with Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR). This provides a more natural and comfortable breathing experience. With EPR technology, the machine is able to lower your pressure levels during exhalation and then gradually elevate them back to normal. Patients have the option of adjusting the intensity of EPR on their device - they can select either 1cm, 2cm or 3cm of pressure relief. Adjusting the EPR function creates a more customized experience for users. If patients experience a prolonged apnea event - one which lasts 10 seconds or longer - EPR will automatically cease until your normal breathing cycle returns.
Advanced Event Detection
The AirSense 10 AutoSet machine is able to go above and beyond most sleep apnea therapy machines in the area of event detection. The AirSense 10 is capable of detecting occurrences of central sleep apnea (CSA) and Cheyne-Stokes respiration (CSR) and record this information so it can be examined by your physician or healthcare provider. The AirSense 10 therefore enables patients who display signs of either CSA or CSR to obtain more thorough and individualized treatment.
The new AutoRamp feature for the AirSense 10 AutoSet is designed to maximize patient comfort levels from the earliest point of therapy. The AutoRamp function initially helps patients fall asleep by delivering low pressure; then, after patients have fallen asleep, the AutoRamp gradually raises the pressure to your prescribed level to ensure that your therapy results are not compromised. The AutoRamp function can be customized easily to suit the particular pressure needs of each individual patient.
In order to maximize power and further optimize your overall experience, the AirSense 10 AutoSet machine comes with SmartStart and SmartStop functions. SmartStart ensures that your machine will not begin operating until after you put your mask on and take your first breath; SmartStop will shut down your machine as soon as your mask is removed. Automatic start and stop functions give patients less need to worry since they can be certain the power is being used efficiently.
The AirSense 10 AutoSet machine includes a handy "mask fitting" function which is able to detect whether or not your nasal, nasal pillow or full face mask is fitting properly. The AirSense 10 has a visual confirmation mechanism which will indicate the status of your mask fit - you'll be able to look at the display screen and determine whether your mask is on correctly or incorrectly.
The AirSense 10 AutoSet with humidifier possesses a state-of-the-art integrated humidification system which is certain to substantially improve your therapy experience. The inbuilt humidifier for the AirSense 10 is remarkably easy to use and navigate. With its Auto option for Climate Control, patients can simply attach the ClimateLineAir heated tube and then enjoy automated, self-adjusting humidification as soon as they press the start button. The humidifier is sure to keep your air warm and moist and should guard against most of the negative side consequences associated with sleep apnea therapy. The water chamber for the inbuilt humidifier has been specially designed to protect your motor: in order to fill your chamber it must be removed entirely from the machine - this guarantees that your motor is safe from accidental spillage. The humidifier for the AirSense 10 does not have a complicated menu or difficult set-up procedure.
The AirSense 10 is compatible with standard tubing, SlimLine tubing and the newly created ClimateLineAir heated tubing. The ClimateLineAir heated tubing was designed specifically to work for the AirSense 10 and will contribute substantially to your humidification. You will avoid the troubles of rain-out, overheating and other pitfalls. One thing to keep in mind is the AirSense 10 machine will not work with general ClimateLine tubing.
