The IntelliPAP AutoAdjust Auto CPAP is an auto adjusting CPAP machine with SmartFlex expiratory relief comfort feature. With its unique auto adjusting algorithm the SleepCube Auto Plus is equally suitable for performing overnight titrations in hospital or at home as it adjusts its pressure in response to apneas, hypopneas and snoring, finding the optimum pressure settings throughout the night. Auto CPAP machines (APAP), when set properly, tend to do a better job of eliminating apnea/hypopnea events than do single pressure CPAP machines. Most APAP machines measure air flow usage. After making a base-line record of your air flow usage while awake, they measure your air flow usage on a breath by breath basis after you go to sleep. If your air flow usage is less than your base-line, the machine automatically starts increasing the pressure until your air flow is equal to your base-line usage. When your breathing is stabilized, it begins to reduce the pressure until it measures another flow limitation. It does that all night long, keeping your airway open and you breathing normally. SmartFlex - Expiratory Relief DeVilbiss Healthcare are proud to introduce SmartFlex to the SleepCube Standard Plus and Auto Plus CPAPs. It reduces the pressure when the patient is exhaling to aide patient comfort. SmartFlex has three settings and each setting reduces the CPAP pressure by 1 cm H2O during exhalation. Setting 1 - reduction of 1 cm H2O Setting 2 - reduction of 2 cm H2O Setting 3 - reduction of 3 cm H2O SmartFlex can be used for the ramp period to enable the patient to go to sleep easier or for the whole night. If an apnea, hypopnea or a snore is detected the SmartFlex will turn off and will only resume once events are no longer detected. Flow Rounding Flow Rounding is a feature that changes the slope of the pressure waveform during the transition from prescription pressure to the SmartFlex setting and vice-versa. This enables a smooth ransition and the chances of waking the patient are reduced. There are 5 levels of flow rounding with level 1 having the steepest slope and quickest transition and level 5 having the gentlest slope and slowest transition. These settings should be adjusted for optimal patient comfort. Included in every SleepCube is the SmartCode data compliance feature which encodes usage data into a series of letters and numbers that can be easily decrypted using free software.
